World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A  boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of an item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure what will be improved after a reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a substantial chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails.  upgrade item  failed upgrade will cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in a radius around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
