World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.
For example an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be inserted. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much it will increase after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.
You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your gear. Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. When a player upgrades an item the original item will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This can be a downside, as the item can be more expensive even if you do not require it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The item upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor weapons, armor trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its original condition which means that the player has to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any gained bonuses, including crit chance and attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. item upgrades is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will need to carry each piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine.
